There will be some significant changes to the Medical Library over the course of 2016 and 2017.
These are driven by changes to the undergraduate course of the Clinical School. From 2017 there will be an increase in student numbers each year for 3 years. The resulting c260 (instead of c160) students per year require additional teaching space. The Clinical School building is undergoing significant refurbishment to improve the teaching facilities. Information from the Clinical School is available.
This impacts on the Medical Library, and the service we offer to you in three phases:
To facilitate the refurbishment of the Clinical School, journal archives have been removed from the Medical Library. More details are available.
Building work for the refurbishment of the Clinical School will be starting in July 2016, with completion planned for May 2017. The Medical Library will relocate to a temporary space for the duration of the works. We will aim to ensure that as many as possible of our services continue, but there will inevitably be some disruption.
The end is in sight!
The refurbishment of the Medical Library and Clinical School is almost complete.
