In the week of 10th November, we spent a bit of time trying to find out what you thought of the library, how you used it, etc. These statistics are submitted to RLUK, the NHS like to know what we’re doing, and we like to know what you think of us – so one weeks surveying was put to multiple uses!
Thank you for your patience at the issue desk as we asked perhaps a few more questions than usual, and thank you to everyone who filled out the survey slips that were available throughout the library.
What we found out…..
We’re very pleased to hear that overwhelmingly you are satisfied with the service that we offer you. Of the 432 people who contributed to the survey, 64% (n=276) were happy with us – hurrah!
Of the remainder 34% (n=147) didn’t express an opinion, and only 2% (n=9) said they were unhappy. While we’re not complacent, many of those comments were regarding the lack of heating (which has since been fixed) and the number of renewals of loans that were available (4 renewals of a 4 week loan are our policy for all library members).
We received some lovely comments:
“Brilliant Staff – Always ready to help with a smile”
“Staff are friendly and helpful whenever I’ve used them to help me. Thank you”
But we also received some useful prompts to keep our weeding of library stock (ie clearing out the older books) up to date – we’re on it!, and to get the heating fixed – again, very pleased to say that is fixed now the colder weather is setting in.
Thanks again for your comments, and always feel free to let us know what you think of the Medical Library service.
