History
The Medical Library was established in 1973 and gained dependent library status of the Cambridge University Library in 1976, becoming one of four dependent libraries. Cambridge University Libraries (of which the Medical Library is part) now comprise the main University Library and a number of affiliated subject libraries.

The Medical Library collections supports all aspects of medicine and healthcare. The book collection of over 50,000 volumes contains core textbooks and specialty titles, many of which are available electronically as well as in print.
