During October our #ResourceOfTheMonth has been tips and resources to help maximise access to full text articles if you are based at the University of Cambridge.
In the first week we explained how idiscover can be searched to find out which electronic journals the University of Cambridge has access to.
If you have a reference to an article and want to see if the University of Cambridge has access the first place to check is https://t.co/7OGXQkZWar. Don’t forget to check the dates on the journal record as there might be access to the journal but not the dates needed

Our second resource to maximise access to full text was to use this version of PubMed as it provides a link to University of Cambridge e-journals in the article record.
This week in our #ResourceOfTheMonth series, finding full text articles we suggest that you follow this link https://t.co/EIuHpz7Tnt to access PubMed and click the "Online Full-text" link to access the full text article. You might need to use your Raven login if you're off campus

It is possible to set Google Scholar so that it shows links to full text articles subscribed to by your library. In the Settings menu select Library Links and type in the name of your organisation e.g. University of Cambridge.
Did you know that you can let Google Scholar know that you’re based at the University of Cambridge? This is our latest #ResourceOfTheMonth tip about how to access full text articles. Go to the settings in Google Scholar, library links and enter University of Cambridge.

Our final resource in our #ResourceOfTheMonth about finding full text articles is the Lean Library browser extension. There is more information about Lean Library here
Our final resource for #ResourceOfTheMonth in October about finding full text articles is the Lean Library browser extension. Once installed it will automatically detect full text articles which are available to University of Cambridge staff and students. https://t.co/pWAYJIimxp

There were also some suggestions about accessing full text on our comments wall.
This library user's suggestion to use either Raven (CRSID) or Athens logins to ensure access to institutional subscriptions is spot on. Make sure you're logged in to one or the other of these before you begin searching for articles.

The suggestion to limit PubMed results to full text only is also a good one, although this may mean you miss articles that are freely available — but only in printed copies on the shelves of the library. Supplement your PubMed search with iDiscover so that you don't miss out.
