Free access to interactive PDFs for professionals & students
Changes have been made to the structure and appearance of the British National Formulary (BNF), the medicines and prescribing reference book used by NHS healthcare professionals. In response to this CPPE and BNF publications have produced an interactive programme, How to use the BNF, to help healthcare professionals navigate these new changes.
Every 6 months alongside the release of the latest BNF print CPPE and the BNF produce a programme “What’s new in the BNF?”. This interactive programme will help healthcare professionals to keep up to date and see how the new recommendations and clinical changes can affect practice.
The most recent changes can be found in What’s new in BNF 70 Some of the topics included are:
- amiodarone use in patients treated for chronic hepatitis C
- prescribing of aceclofenac in older patients
- pimecrolimus use in pregnant and breastfeeding patients
- prescribing guidance on tacrolimus
- treatment of ADHD with lisdexamfetamine
To access the programme register with www.cppe.ac.uk.
If you are not a pharmacy professional you can register as a non-GPhC registrant once you have registered you will be able to download this programme free of charge.
If you are involved in educating those who are new to the BNF you might want to show them the CPPE How to Use the BNF distance learning programme which can also be accessed via the CPPE website free of charge.
