NHS ATHENS has always given you access to databases such as Medline and CINAHL, plus a large number of ejournals.

But do you feel that you might need a little help and support with your literature searching? Are you frustrated at how long it takes, or unconvinced that you’ve got all the information that might be available?

Critical Appraisal

“An Introduction to Critical Appraisal” will help you understand how to critically appraise a randomised controlled trial (RCT). Using the CASP Checklist the course covers samples and sample size, randomisation, bias, statistics, significance (P Values and Confidence Intervals) and relevance. More details here
