Integrated disease management programmes for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
A Cochrane review shows that multicomponent and multidisciplinary integrated disease management programmes for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are associated with better quality of life and exercise capacity and fewer hospital admissions for exacerbations up to 12 months.
Agomelatine for depression
A meta-analysis suggests that agomelatine is as effective as other antidepressants and causes slightly fewer discontinuations due to adverse effects. However, the relative incidence of individual adverse effects was not studied.
Psychotherapy for anorexia nervosa
A randomised controlled trial in Germany reports that focal psychodynamic therapy and enhanced cognitive behavioural therapy are no better than usual psychotherapy for weight gain in women with anorexia nervosa.
