Health Information Week is a region-wide, multi-sector campaign to promote the good quality health resources that are available to the public.
As well as putting up a book display in the library, there are loads of resources online that might be useful:
- NHS Choices – provides information about healthy living and getting the best out of the NHS
- Behind the Headlines – your guide to the science that makes the news
- Patient.co.uk – health information used by GPs and nurses for supporting patients and carers
- CUHT Patient Advice and Liaison
- Youth Health Talk – contains interviews with young people about their experience of illness
- Health Talk – contains interviews of other people’s experiences of health and illness and support information
- Self Management UK -self-management courses to support patients manage long-term health problems
- Patients’ Tales – it may be useful to read books that people have written about their own illnesses to give insight
- Testing Treatments – Promoting critical thinking about treatment claims
