On 6-7 August, the software the Medical Library uses to enable you to borrow, return, and renew books will be undergoing some upgrades. During this time, it will not be working. This means that library users will not be able to:
- Use the self-service machine
- Renew books online (or look online at what books they have borrowed)
- Request books from other users
- Receive automated emails reminding you books are due back (or overdue)
However, you will still be able to borrow and return books — simply bring them, with your library card, to library staff at the enquiry desk. We will issue and return the books for you, but please note there may be a slight delay in them being added or removed from your library account, as we will have to wait until the software is working again to be able to do so. Any fines incurred during the period 6-7 August will be waived (although only the portion of the fine incurred during those days — so if you have a fine incurred earlier, you will still have to pay that, and if you incur a fine on 6th August and don’t return the book until the 8th, you would have to pay the portion covering the 8th).
If you have any questions, please speak to library staff.
