Next week (from Monday 23rd August onwards) work will begin in the Clinical School to replace many of the existing windows. This will mean that the library training room, and the Shhh room will not be available to use as study spaces. Regular users of the training room for meetings/video calls should be aware that it will not be available to book until the window replacement work is complete. The Medical Library does not have any other bookable spaces, so please ensure that you make other arrangements during this time, and do not expect that you will be able to show up and use the training room for meetings while the window replacement is ongoing.
There are other study spaces available in the library – the desks and bays in the reading room, and the tables, couches and chairs in the Share room. Please be aware that talking and group work is permitted (and indeed encouraged) in the Share space, so if you are likely to find that disruptive we recommend using other areas to study. The Spacefinder website is a good resource to help you find the perfect study space in Cambridge.
Once work on the training room and Shhh room is completed, workers will move on to replace the windows in the central quadrangle in the library. This may involve some noise and disruption, but you will still be able to use the corridors to pass from one area of the library to another. We anticipate this second batch of work will begin on Monday, 30th September.
