Our resource of the month for November was the Zotero reference management software. We’ve been tweeting out hints and tips all month, and these are now gathered here for ease of reference.
Zotero differs from some other reference managers in that it is a plugin for Firefox, and works best when used through the browser. This means you can use it on any computer (or internet-enabled device) you like, rather than being limited to a single computer where the software has been installed.
Our #resourceofthemonth is Zotero-a free, web-based reference manager. Works best as a Firefox plugin. Install here: https://t.co/gdZbSZihcI

Zotero is particularly useful if you need to cite websites (as opposed to books, journals, conference papers and so on). It also has a Word plugin, which is free to download and install.

We run regular training sessions on how to use Zotero, as well as other reference management software. If you couldn’t make it to our November session, you can book on to a later session here if you are a student or staff member of the University of Cambridge. NHS staff should contact the library training team so we can book a place on your behalf.

If you can’t make it to training, or simply prefer to get started with Zotero on your own, the Medical Library’s user guide may be helpful.
