Affected sites: Addenbrookes site
Start date: 10pm, Saturday, 1st October 216
Estimated completion date and time: Sunday 2nd October
Additional information:
The power maintenance work delayed from the 23rd/24th September has now been provisionally rescheduled to take place on the 1st/2nd October. Unfortunately this disruption is outside of our control and regrettably we have no option but to power down all systems while this power work is carried out. Under this new plan power will be removed from the CSCS Medicine Data Centre by 10PM on the evening of Saturday October 1st. The contractors’ intent is for the power to be available again on the morning of Sunday 2nd October.
As this work will remove all power supply to the Medicine Data Centre, all equipment located in that room will need to be powered down in good time for the power interruption. CSCS staff will begin powering down all managed servers and essential infrastructure and associated hardware from 6pm Saturday October 1st. We ask that customers with non-managed equipment that is hosted in that room shut the devices down by 6pm on Saturday 1st October. Any customer equipment still powered on after this time will be hard powered off by CSCS staff. If you wish us to power up your unmanaged devices, please provide clear and detailed startup documentation before close of business on Thursday 29th September if there are any dependencies for your equipment.
Once power has been restored and confirmed as stable on the morning of Sunday 2nd October CSCS staff will begin the process of powering up systems. Due to the large number of servers and equipment in that room, we do not have a specific target time for services to be restored and be considered stable.
