The Medical Library is now settled in to its new (temporary) home in Bay 13, and we hope all our users are too! Even though we’re in a different building, our library services will run as normal, and this includes our training programme. We will continue to deliver our training courses, but as we do not have access to the library training room until we move back into the Clinical School building, there will be two major differences in how these courses are delivered:
- Courses will take place in a variety of rooms on the Addenbrooke’s site. Please ensure you take note of the venue when booking a place on a course. If you’re unfamiliar with the location, get in touch with us at librarytraining@medschl.cam.ac.uk.
- Attendees will need to bring their own laptops or tablets if possible. If you cannot bring your own device, please let us know when making a booking so that we can make alternative arrangements.
We have courses on the following, scheduled up until mid-December:
- Literature Searching (for doctors, nurses, or AHPs)
- Critical Appraisal (of RCTs, physiotherapy interventions, or systematic reviews)
- Systematic Reviews
- Reference Management (Endnote, EndnoteWeb, Mendeley and Zotero)
- The ‘Big 4’ Databases (Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus)
- Writing for Publication
- Research Data Management
You can view the dates and times of all scheduled training here. University of Cambridge staff and students can book places using their Raven logins. NHS staff will need to contact us so we can book a place on their behalf. If you are an NHS worker who would like to attend one of our training courses, please email librarytraining@medschl.cam.ac.uk with the following details:
- Name and email address
- Name of the course you wish to attend
- Date and time of the session you wish to attend
- If you do not have your own laptop or tablet (or cannot bring them to the session) please also let us know
We look forward to seeing you all at an upcoming training session!
