Last week, we welcomed you back to our brand new renovated Medical Library. We’ve been introducing you to one new space per day since then, and today it’s time to unveil our enquiry desk. This is in the entrance to the library, and is your first port of call for any questions or problems you may have. Our friendly staff are always happy to help. This is also where you should bring all books you want to borrow, return, or renew.
Beyond books, the enquiry desk is also where you can borrow book stands…
… bluetooth keyboards for your phone or tablet…
… or locker keys to keep your belongings safe and secure while you get stuck into your study.
We’ve also got earplugs to give away, and regular or noise-cancelling headphones for you to borrow.
You can also buy USB sticks at the enquiry desk — ask staff for details.
Next to the enquiry desk you’ll find two computers with iDiscover installed — this is our library catalogue, where you can search and find the books, journals or other resources you need, and locate them on our shelves or access links to full-text online material.
If you need help with literature searching or using reference management software, we have printed guides with step-by-step instructions to help you. As well as physical copies near the enquiry desk, these guides are also available online.
We hope to see you at the enquiry desk soon!
