We’d like to welcome all the new and returning doctors who are going through their inductions for Addenbrooke’s. We’ve enjoyed meeting a large number of you already and look forward to working with you over the new few months.
All the staff in the NHS have a busy workload, and for Foundation Year doctors, it’s no exception (not to mention getting to grips with a new hospital!):
- Evidence based practice
- Continuing professional development
- Professional exams
- Research projects and/or audit
- Getting published
The Medical Library can help:
- Access to computers and wifi NOT on the Addenbrooke’s network (and therefore access to webmail and other sites that are blocked on NHS intranet)
- Access to University of Cambridge journals and e-journals – additional resources that complement NHS ATHENS journals
- Books – borrow 5 books for 4 weeks
- Medical Masterclass – contact us if you’d like a password for this great revision tool
- NHS ATHENS – register for a password to get access to e-journals, e-books and databases to search for literature to support your evidence based practice, and for access to the eBNF (app and mobile site)
- Reference management and statistical software packages (EndNote and SPSS)
- Help and support to improve your literature search skills
We wish you luck, and
