The Biomedical Campus Library has three research skills training sessions next week. The first is an introductory overview of Covidence screening software aimed at those who have no prior experience, but who are currently undertaking a systematic review or plan to do so in the near future. It will highlight how Covidence can be used to maximise the efficiency of your review and enable you to collaborate on tasks with your review co-authors. It assumes a basic familiarity with systematic review methodology. The second class enables you to learn the fundamentals of writing for academic publication, from planning and structuring a manuscript to selecting a journal and navigating the submission process. The third class explains what grey literature is and why it should be included in systematic or literature reviews. It also covers sites and sources of grey literature, and how to search Google more effectively, with demonstrations of specific platforms and search techniques designed to retrieve relevant grey literature.
A member of the Biomedical Campus Library’s training team is also delivering an introductory showcase of Endnote referencing software – this is open to all students at the university, rather than being aimed at a specific subject area.
The sessions will not be recorded.
