Head of Medical Library Services

I’ve worked at the Medical Library for over twenty years, and now lead the team. As well as ensuring existing services run smoothly, I liaise with as many different parts of the NHS and the University as I can to ensure we’re developing the new services you need now and in the future. I have a particular interest in user education and research support, especially in systematic reviews, and have blogged, published and presented in these areas. I also support the work of THIS Institute as their embedded librarian. Veronica Phillips

Liaison Librarian (School of Clinical Medicine)

I am the first point of contact for researchers, academic teaching staff, and students within the School of Clinical Medicine. I lead the training team with Clare McQuaid (who has responsibility for NHS staff working in Cambridge University Hospitals), and, together with Meidhbhin Browne, provide academic and research skills teaching and support for University of Cambridge students and researchers within the School of Clinical Medicine. I collaborate with researchers at Cambridge and beyond on systematic reviews, and am co-author of these reviews (and other publications), which have been published in peer-reviewed journals. I am a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) and have a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Clare McQuaid

Liaison Librarian (NHS)

I am responsible for the provision of specialist library support to Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUHFT). I lead the training team with Veronica, and provide research skills teaching and support to staff working in CUHFT. Meidhbhin Browne

Senior Library Assistant

I provide support and training for researchers and students within the School of Clinical Medicine alongside Veronica Phillips. You’ll find me leading sessions in our Library Research Skills programme, providing one on one research support, and answering your emails about everything from search strategies to poster design! I love supporting our users to discover, create, and communicate- and I am deeply enthusiastic about reference management software.

I curate and keep library’s physical and ebook collections relevant and current, maintain reading lists up to date and help readers receive requested material promptly. I contribute to making library space a welcoming and pleasant space to work.
